The Jesse Alexander Band
The Jesse Alexander Band from Lodi, New York was formed in 2008 with Jesse Alexander on mandolin and fiddle, Susan Alexander on bass, Andy Alexander on banjo, and Darrell Lesh on guitar. Luke Parsnow has known Jesse since he was three years old and they both grew up learning how to play instruments together. Luke actually inspired Jesse to learn to play the mandolin. In 2011, Lesh left the band and Parsnow has stepped in as the guitar player and contributer to vocals since that time. The band has an album "The Girl I Love", released in 2012. They host the Pickin' In the Pasture Bluegrass Festival every year during the fourth weekend in August in Lodi, New York.
The Delaney Brothers
The Delaney Brothers have been performing across the Central New York area since 1981. Luke Parsnow's father, Pat Parsnow, was the original banjo player of the band, from 1982 to 1987 and played bass for them for one season in 1997. The band has won Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMYS) in two categories in their time and showcased at the International Bluegrass Music Association convention in Louisville, Kentucky in 2001. In early 2013, one of the brothers, Ray Delaney, developed liver cancer and former banjo player, Scott Corbett filled in for him during the 2013 music season. Luke played some songs on stage with the band that fall and in 2014, took Ray's place as a full time member of the band. The personnel includes John Delaney on mandolin, Jonathan Delaney on bass, Nick Piccinini on banjo, and Luke on guitar.
